Owner Aisha Tedros, who is from Eritrea, just north of Ethiopia, has brought authentic flavors from her old home to her new one. The beans are bought directly from farmers in Africa and are roasted locally. Coffee isn’t the only staple for A.T. Oasis, as tea lovers can choose from a variety of flavors and types from all over the world. Drink to Try: A steaming cup of drip coffee, to truly taste the unique flavor of Ethiopian beans. Cartel 7124 E. 5th Ave, Scottsdale, 85251 Cartel, located in Old Town Scottsdale, takes the process of making their coffee seriously, using a San Franciscan Model SF- 25 roaster to bring out the most complex layers and flavors in their drinks. Each step, from the farmers of the beans to the barista that pours your espresso, is meticulously fine- tuned and has created a loyal following. First Ave, Scottsdale, 85251 There may not be a more unique coffee shop concept than FourtillFour. Owner Nico Samaras took his love of classic cars and coffee to make a Porsche themed coffee shop. The Porsche 356 is his favorite model and when 356 is read as a time of day, it’s “four till four.” “I had a collection of old cars and that’s how I fell into it,” said Samaras. “It’s a great place to have meet ups and gatherings for people who are interested.” If you’re a classic car owner or fan, head down to the shop on the first Saturday of every month and visit the Porsche car show hosted by Samaras. Drink to Try: “I would say a cappuccino. We serve a brighter espresso and that amount of milk can be just the perfect combination,” said Samaras.
