To FrienDs, neigHbors anD supporTers oF THe DaviD & glaDys WrigHT House FounDaTion: in september, the David and Gladys Wright House Foundation filed its application for his- toric preservation landmark status with the City of Phoenix for the David Wright House, guest- house, and current 6.1 acre property. That application is the first of a two-step process initiated by the Phoenix City Council’s unanimous adoption in 2013 of an amendment to the City’s zoning ordinance, crafted specifically to ensure that the David Wright House is preserved and made accessible to the public as an ed- ucational and cultural institution. I INVITE YOU to learn more about the preservation of the David and Gladys Wright House, including historic photos of the house and surrounding citrus trees, by reading the full historic preservation application on our website . Adoption of this application by the Phoenix City Council is essential to the long-term preservation of the home and to guaranteeing pub- lic accessibility to the Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece that the City of Phoenix Preservation Office has acknowledged as the “most significant work within the City of Phoenix by the most significant architect in American history.” If you believe in the Foundation’s mission to preserve the David Wright House as a non-profit educational and cultural center, please email the full City Council. If you have questions or comments regarding the Foundation’s preservation plans, or if you would like to schedule a tour of the David Wright House, please call the Foundation at (602) 689- 6140 or send me an e-mail at info@davidwrighthouse.org. Registering your support at City Hall is critical to the preservation of the David Wright House. Thank you for your voice in helping preserve and share what is Wright.
