The establishments below are just a few that show their appreciation for our military personnel. For starters, there are a multitude of restaurants that offer discounts to veterans. Burger King, Dairy Queen, Denny’s and Famous Dave’s offer 10 percent discounts to military when they show their military identification. At Lone Star Steakhouse, active military personnel are able to get 15 percent off their meal every Monday, not just on Veterans Day! After you’re done eating, head over to AMC Theaters after 4 p.m. to receive discount movie tickets. If you’re out and about, a free annual pass to any of the United States National Parks is offered to veterans. Travel discounts are also offered to military personnel; Best Western and Choice Hotels offer discounted room rates and the Hampton Inn offers 15 percent off of your reservation. After a quick nap at the hotel room, it might be time to head out and do some shopping. Various stores offer 10 percent discounts to veterans with proof of ID, such as American Eagle, Banana Republic and Eddie Bauer. The best part is that these discounts are available throughout the year, not just on Veterans Day. Home improvement stores such as Lowe’s and Home Depot also offer 10 percent off throughout the year for military personnel. Veterans Day is right around the corner, and many businesses plan to offer discounts and benefits as a way of honoring veterans and current military personnel. These businesses range from restaurants to barber shops to movie theaters; a few offer benefits throughout the year, not just on Veterans Day.
