After moving to Arcadia from Texas in February, Alysha Cowgill said she hasn’t found much competition; most customers have not heard of the concept before being referred to her. Although her prices are comparable, Cowgill said Groupon, a website with deals to surrounding businesses, is her main competition. Hair Affair salon owner Susan Shojaee, who previously worked with Cowgill, said clients have reported positive experiences after she referred them to Alysha’s Esthetic. “She can come to your home and you don’t have to do the traveling,” Shojaee said. “Usually after the facials and stuff you can relax and just be at your home and not have to drive back.” With convenience also comes flexibility, Cowgill said.
