Page 25 February 2013 Romance, travel combined By Kaley Kalil February is a great month to take a trip, explore somewhere new or even cozy up and relax at a nearby hotel. Here are a few quick and easy tips on how to make your next getaway more romantic. Handwritten notes Go old school, leave your laptop and email behind and buy yourself some stationery and a nice pen. I certainly enjoy sending handwritten letters and postcards to those I love, and I’ve noticed how much they love receiving them. Quite possibly the easiest (and most inexpensive) way to let your partner know you’re thinking about them is to leave a handwritten note for them to fi nd. Tuck it in their suitcase, leave it on their pillow, hang it from the entry way or slide it under their car windshield wipers. Get creative. Going to a movie later tonight? Tuck your tickets or movie money inside a love letter. Fancy dinner reservations? Write her a short poem so she can guess where you’ll be dining. The excitement and mystery will spice things up and make your otherwise normal dinners and outings that much more memorable on your trip. Flowers They smell fantastic, they look beautiful, and they remind us to slow down and appreciate what’s around us. Make your stay at the hotel a little more romantic by bringing her fl owers. They’ll add a wonderfully personal fl air to your hotel room that will smell so fresh, she’ll think about you every time she looks at them. Personal souvenirs The next time you and your signi fi cant other travel somewhere together, take some time to either fi nd or make a unique souvenir for one another. When my boyfriend took me to Southern California, he collected sand and a few small shells from each beach we visited and put them in small jars, each labeled with the beach it came from. By creating a one-of-a-kind keepsake for your partner, they’ll always have an intimate way to remember your trip. Focus on partner’s interests What better way to let your love know how much you care than by planning an entire day around what they’re most interested in? If your partner enjoys history and art, map out a few nearby museums to visit. Be sure to look up hours, prices and any special events going on at the museums so your partner knows you really do want to go with them. Take turns planning events around each other’s interests and appreciate getting to know your best friend on a deeper, more intimate level. hundreds of millions sold Reputation and Accountability You Deserve! — Truth You Can Expect — — Results You Can Count On — — Use an Arcadia Native — Bellamak.com at Bellamak Realty The Good Guys Hire Judge Bellamak 602.799.1103 Shawn Bellamak 602.723.0400 Traci Bellamak 602.799.1186 Cat Bellamak 480.220.9839
