We’d like to do that. We’d like to share yours. For several months, we’ve run reader- submitted recipes based on a theme. November’s is, shockingly, Thanksgiving. We got the scrumptious sounding offering to the right, a chutney that will work well with your holiday bird, although I’m using it the next time I cook pork, personally. Apple Chutney (from Omei Eaglerider, owner of Terra Java in Arcadia) 1 tbsp. olive oil 1/2 cup sweet onion, medium diced 1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped 1 tbsp. fresh ginger, fi nely minced 1/2 tsp. ground coriander 1 tsp. ground mustard 2 cups tart, medium apples, diced 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1/4 cup water Salt & pepper to taste Peel, core and chop apples and toss in lemon juice. Sauté onions in oil until soft. Add spices to onions and stir together. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until apples are just tender. Adjust seasoning, cool and serve. Makes 2 cups.
