In spite of small park, trip was fun By Kaley Kalil John McAleese, an Arcadian for 27 years, recently traveled to the East Coast to visit Orlando, Fla. for a dog show. John’s 3-year-old Tibetan Spaniel, Levi, was entered into the Eucanuba Championships Dog Show. John’s cousin, Kathy Walters Brooks, and dog handler, Michelle Maynard, traveled to Orlando with him. “The main reason I choose the breed is because of its calm nature,” John said. “They were developed by Tibetan monks 200 years ago to sit high up on monastery walls to watch for invaders. Their eyesight is amazing. Levi goes against breed type in that he’s very friendly and loves to be noticed.” Levi is a grand champion and has won several nonsporting group placements.
