4 APRIL 2026 1. This is Percy , a Pomeranian-Brussels Griffon Percy , a Pomeranian-Brussels Griffon Percy mix who recently celebrated his 16th birthday. We adopted him from the Arizona Humane Society 15 years ago, and he has brought lots of love and joy to our family. He is a frequent visitor to LGO and his adventures can be followed at @percythepooch. – Amber C. 2. This is Juniper , a 5-year-old pup who we got from the Arizona Humane Society when she was one-year-old! Juniper has a gentle, loving, go with the flow personality that everyone loves to be around. She loves belly rubs, snuggles, and the annual dog mile in which she won first place this past January! – Lauren, Sawyer, and Ava K. 3. Here is one of our favorite photos of Winnie at the West Fork in Sedona. Whenever we take Winnie for a walk, everyone asks “What kind of dog is that?” The answer: Winnie is one-half golden doodle and one-half parti-poodle. She is very smart, loves attention and is a lot of fun! She just turned 10 years old in January. – Leslie L. and Gary M. 4. Nikki Nala is a 10-month-old golden retriever that’s been part of our family for six months. Mischievous is an understatement when describing Nikki – she is strong-willed, that’s for sure! She won’t stop chasing her tail and destroys every toy given to her within minutes. She wakes me up at 5 a.m. every day, but despite that, she truly is my favorite thing! – Elva B. EDITOR’S NOTE Every year when my coworker Gabe and I start putting together the summer camp guide, we have a discussion about how much we wished we could’ve participated in a camp when we were kids. I would have spent my days lounging by the lake and writing four page letters to my mom. I, having not been there myself, assume that The Parent Trap (Lohan’s version) portrays summer camp perfectly – plenty of singing, dancing, swimming, friendships and just a hint of drama. We most likely would’ve found Gabe at the baseball diamond, jamming out to his favorite songs and hitting home runs. Alas, we now live vicariously through the 2026 Arcadia News Summer Camp Guide, which readers will find in the pages of this edition. Here, an array of activities that spark adventure, creativity and more are available. We hope you enjoy! This edition also has a few sports stories, and for good reason, as our area schools finished their seasons with state champ wins and memorable moments in the stadium and on the field. St. Theresa won its fourth championship trophy and finished the season with tears of joy – many of the students are heading to their first year of high school next year and are excited to join teams at AHS, Xavier and our neighboring schools. We are celebrating our 34th year as your good news newspaper – we couldn’t have done it without the love and support from our community. Thank you, as always, for reading the Arcadia News. Cheers! – Mallory Gleich – Mallory Gleich UPCOMING THEMES: No one has better coverage in the areas of Arcadia, Biltmore and the Camelback Corridor. 5 APRIL 2026 By Cliff Summerhill The AONA’S inaugural exhibit, held on the First Chinese Baptist Church campus, featured 42 registered vehicles and several display cars, bringing together dozens of vehicle owners and hundreds of attendees for a new spring gathering centered on connection. “I had entered my car in another association’s show last year and had a great time, and I thought it might be a nice fit,” co-organizer Curt Pierce said. Courtesy Auto Group, the event’s major sponsor, helped cover the upfront costs that made the show possible. To enhance the display, Courtesy brought three additional vehicles. From pre-war classics to modern high-performance cars, the variety drew enthusiasts of all interests. “There was a one-year-only VW van model, an ultra-rare Diamond T pickup, and a Ferrari 308 that seemed to attract a lot of attention,” Pierce said. Organizers estimated attendance at more than 200 people throughout the morning. Admission was free for spectators. For a small fee, car owners registered their vehicles for judging in various award categories. Alongside the display, recorded music played and an informational booth hosted by AONA allowed attendees to learn more about the association and its activities. The Arcadia High School baseball program also participated, with the team’s booster club selling breakfast items and coffee. The show included six judged award categories recognizing standout vehicles: Best Classic Car, Best Truck, Best Muscle Car, Best Foreign Car, Best Sports Car, and Best in Show. Jeff McClellan’s 1969 Pontiac GTO received the award for Best Muscle Car. Jimmy Howe’s 1960 Porsche 356B was named Best Sports Car. Ed Battershell’s 1931 Ford Model A won Best Classic Car, and Mark Spaulding’s 1991 Nissan Figaro earned Best Foreign Car. The Best Truck category was awarded to the Mason family, who entered three vehicles: a 1947 Ford pickup, a 1950 Chevrolet 4100 and a 1951 Chevrolet 3100. The event’s top honor, Best in Show, went to Mike McQueen for his 1937 Diamond T. Pierce said organizers hope the show will become an annual tradition, highlighting the neighborhood’s enthusiasm for unique events and collaboration. arcadiaosbornphx.com Arcadia Osborn Association hosts debut car show PHOTOS COURTESY OF THE ARCADIA OSBORN NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION Classic and modern cars lined the First Chinese Baptist Church campus during AONA’s inaugural community car show, drawing over 200 attendees.
