This event comes with a golf tournament and a whole lot of brews. Live music from the authentic German-style Umpa Band and raffle prizes are also on deck. Come check out more than 80 vintage automobiles participating in this year’s Copperstate 1000 car rally – for free. Before they leave to cruise the scenic highways of Arizona during the four-day event, the public might be able to see vehicles like a 1952 Cunningham C2 Le Mans and a 1953 Studebaker Commander. Arizona’s Children Association’s fourth annual Celebrating Her Story event is dedicated to recognizing exemplary women who have demonstrated resiliency in times of adversity – this year’s honoree is Mary Lou Hapner, who became the first female stockbroker in Arizona. This sixth annual event features a display of garden- themed vendors showcasing the latest florals, ceramics, wood and wearable art. There will be live music, demonstrations and a silent auction. At 1 p.m. is the sparkling tea event with live music, a menu and guest speakers. The Phoenix Rotary 100’s Take Flight event will have a booth with metal butterflies for sale. Unlike traditional derby events, often associated with the Boy Scouts, the Pinewood Classic features races for the kids and the grown-ups. Arcadia animal welfare nonprofit Heidi’s Village is celebrating its fifth anniversary with an open house event. Community members are welcome to tour the facility while learning about the organization’s various programs, check out the vendors and rescue partner tables and participate in raffles. The 13th annual Fun Run and 5K is back. Starting near O.H.S.O., PANDA Lemonade Stand Day returns on April 27. This annual tradition encourages kids around the Valley to host lemonade stands to raise awareness of PANDA and funds for the Steele Children’s Research Center. Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation will sponsor the event by donating supplies, and Danzeisen Dairy will donate the lemonade.
