VOL. 2 NO. 07 APRIL 2025 From the students of Arcadia High School Plans are underway for this year’s Project Graduation for seniors, which kicks off with the Grad Walk. By Ahva Ghazanfari Graduation is as scary as it is sweet; marking the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of thousands of students each year. With such a focus on moving forward in the spring, Arcadia High School makes sure to emphasize the importance of remembering the past, as well. Every year during grad season, Arcadia hosts a “Grad Walk” for the seniors. These students suit up in their caps and gowns and take a walk down memory lane by passing through Tavan Elementary, Hopi Elementary, and Ingleside Middle School. All the younger students at said schools line the halls and eagerly await the moment they get to see their future walk past. “It’s so cool to see where you started and compare it to where you are now,” senior Zach Young said. “I have brothers at Tavan and Ingleside, so it was especially sweet to get to show off what’s lined up for them down the road.” Since these schools are Arcadia’s feeders, a large percentage of its students have attended them. Thus, the Grad Walk is a chance for attendees to see their old teachers and classrooms, as well as become role models for the younger students at the schools. Along with smiles and high-fives, something deeply special is exchanged through each interaction. As a 2025 senior myself, I’m definitely looking forward to looking back. Springing into spring cleaning April is a month of fresh starts, new beginnings, and often unpredictable weather. With it comes the task of spring cleaning, which can sometimes feel overwhelming – but it doesn’t have to be! This is a great way to clear out the remnants of winter and prepare for summer. Here are some simple steps to help you tidy up and renew your space. Start by decluttering. Begin by removing items you no longer need, such as papers, dishes, or clothes. It’s helpful to ask yourself, “When was the last time I used this, and when will I need it again?” This can guide you in letting go of things that no longer serve you and make room for new memories. Once your space feels lighter, clean from top to bottom. According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, ceiling fans can gather dust mites that affect your health – yikes – so start by dusting those off. Then, move to countertops and, finally, the floors. This method ensures you’re not just temporarily tidying up but truly deep cleaning your space. Lastly, make cleaning fun! Play your favorite music to give you an energy boost. Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be a stressful task. When you approach it as a way to refresh and renew, it becomes satisfying. Take it step by step, and you’ll feel the relief of a tidy space and find it easier to transition into a fresh, energetic summer. – Brooke Waddle A walk down memory lane PHOTOS COURTESY OF ARCADIA HIGH SCHOOL art one gallery | foundation Representing students and local artists of Arizona since 1993 480.946.5076 . 4130 n marshall way . scottsdale . artonegalleryinc.com . @artonegalleryinc Rupert by Julian Harr acrylic on canvas 9” x 12” x 0.50” • $120 Pure Existence by Herb Schultz acrylic on canvas 48” x 60” x 1.50” • ON APPROVAL
