With optimism for an exciting year ahead, Arcadia’s PTOs are making the following plans for 2024-25.   arcadiapto.org PTO President Kerri Flader and her team are looking forward to continuing the ALL-IN campaign at AHS this year. “It worked so well! We want to continue involving our Titan community in supporting our students and staff. We also look forward to our auction to raise funds that 100 percent go back to happenings at the school,” Flader said. Upcoming events include Future Titan Night where students from feeder schools are invited to a football game, the homecoming parade and football game on September 27, and the school dance on September 28. AHS volunteer opportunities include helping at the staff appreciation lunch, Fun Fridays, Future Titan Night, auctions, and various other events. On the first day of school Biltmore Prep hosted the boohoo/yahoo breakfast for kinder parents to manage first day jitters and meet the PTO. In September, there will be a Family Movie Night. Biltmore’s K-5 fall soccer league will be starting in November, in addition to their fall carnival and special person’s day. “We are especially excited to be moving forward with our Ben’s Bells mural,” Kim said. “We have been working toward fundraising for the last few years that our school has adopted the Ben’s Bells Kindness curriculum. The install is scheduled for October and I believe we will be the first school in Phoenix to have a Ben’s Bells mural!”   echocanyonpto.com Jessica Scordo returns as the Echo Canyon School PTO president this year. Upcoming events include the Color Run in September and Trunk or Treat in October. “The PTO is looking forward to more family engagement and welcoming prospective families and community members to learn more about our A-rated and nationally recognized school,” Vice-President Kristen Guerin said. Volunteers are needed to help out at events and with staff appreciation activities. The school is also in need of presenters for the Exploration Friday program in which students participate in hands-on learning activities led by field experts, parents and community members.  hopipta.com This year’s theme is “Once a hawk, always a hawk.” An Arcadia landmark for almost 65 years, the school prides itself in being a symbol of excellence, belonging and growth. “The community and involvement here are simply unmatched, and we are looking forward to our parents being on campus volunteering in the classroom through wonderful programs such as Art Masterpiece and Garden,” PTA President Laurie Davis shared. “We planted blue pumpkins this year – so we are off to a very festive start.” Over the next few months, the Hopi community will take part in the annual Hopi Hullabaloo, Walk to School Day, the Used Book Fair and Hopi Fun Run.  inglesidepto.com “We are thrilled to welcome Ingleside to a new school year with the theme: Trojan Strong!” PTO President Kelly Briegal said. “This year, we are focusing on three core areas: strong support, strong community and strong connection. We are committed to creating a supportive and vibrant place for our students, families, teachers and staff.” The school debuted a new mural on the building that faces the parking lot and the PTO also has a brand-new website. Ingleside is looking forward to a new bowling fundraiser in the fall called Trojan Ten Pin. Morning coffee and Q&A sessions called Mocha with Dr. Michael will happen once a quarter. Volunteers are needed for various activities throughout the year, including the bowling fundraiser, the eighth-grade year-end party, Fun Fridays, the garden, school dance chaperones and more. Homecoming Spirit Week kicks off September 16 with dress-up days, a pep rally for the football game and the Homecoming Social for high school students. There is also the annual dodgeball tournament on September 28, where students and faculty compete and win different categories with fun prizes. In November, Veritas will take over the canal for their 5K Victory Run. In addition, the board will plan monthly dine-outs, organize spirit wear, and partner with parent volunteers to support the school’s faculty and staff.      stcs.us There are various volunteer roles and events St. Theresa families can participate in to get into the school spirit. In the fall the school will gear up for its annual Adult Game Night, Trunk or Treat and school auction. Transitioning into the spring, St. Theresa is busy with the Father Daughter Dance, Mother Son event, Grandparents Day and the school play, along with community parties and their second annual spring carnival. To show teachers some love, the PTO will offer seasonal gifts and host monthly lunches. Students can join in on Fun Fridays throughout the school year filled with activities and treats. “We are always grateful for the support of our parent volunteers, who make all these events happen for our students,” PTO President Jackie Posta said.  tavanpto.com In October, a Tavan and neighborhood favorite, the Halloween Hi-Jinx, will take place – but this time, with a different name: The Tavan Trunk or Treat. “Although the event will look a little different, we will still bring the same safe family fun that the neighborhood has come to love,” PTO President Cheri Pierce said. “You do not have to be a Tavan family to have a car registered in our Trunk or Treat. It’s a great way to enjoy neighbors and the holiday in a safe, controlled environment.” The Tavan Twinkles event will take place in December, where young entrepreneurs are invited to sell their items at a holiday boutique. “In the past, we have had Arcadia High students sell candles and greeting cards, Ingleside students sell paintings, and Veritas students sell reusable entertaining placemats,” Pierce said. “We are also very proud of our Tavan students who have sold bracelets, notepads, reusable sandwich bags, personalized canvas bags and more.” The PTO also helps with hosting a monthly coffee with the principal, end of the month parent meet ups, teacher appreciation lunches, birthday recognitions, book fairs and monthly Dining for Dollars nights.
