The 33rd annual Southwest Wings Summer Festival is a family-friendly event that boasts guided field trips, a pre-festival jamboree, programs and presentations for kids and adults, exhibits, vendors, live animals, and a keynote dinner with ornithologist Julie Zickefoose. Join the MIM for a concert that features two musicians you may be familiar with: Albert Lee and Jeremy Clyde. Lee’s history includes working with Eric Clapton and the Everly Brothers while Clyde has spent years in TV, on stage and in film. The two will sing familiar songs of the past. If you’re in the market for gems and jewels, head up to Prescott for a weekend filled with both. More than 60 vendors will have jewelry, beads and tools for sale. There will also be a fluorescent booth, geode cutting, face painting, gold panning, demonstrations, a spinning wheel and raffle drawings. At this event, fans of all ages will watch their favorite Hot Wheels Monster Trucks…in the dark. Glowing versions of Mega Wrex, Tiger Shark, Boneshaker and more will battle it out. There will also be a special appearance from a transforming robot, plus the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Freestyle Motocross Team. Sheldon St., Prescott. Listen to the stories and songs of the old west at the 36th annual Cowboy Poets Gathering. Patrons can listen to – and meet – performers like Dave Stamey and Mike Dunn, hear poetry readings, have coffee with the cowboys, or attend one of the many daily performances.
