20 APRIL 2024 T here’s something about Arcadia that keeps people coming back for more, or in some cases, never leaving at all. Perhaps it’s a magnetic force that holds everyone together. Whatever the reason, Bill Kelhoffer is under the spell. His family moved to Arcadia when he was four years old, and he has never left. He attended the trio of neighborhood schools – Hopi, Ingleside and Arcadia High. “I still remember riding bikes on the canal with my friends, fishing for crawdads. We’d sleep over at one another’s houses on the weekends and looked forward to the Hopi Hullabaloo every year. That was a close second to Christmas,” Bill said with a laugh. As a kid, Bill played baseball – lots of baseball. He spent countless hours fielding balls with his father, which paid off because he was a four-time Little League All-Star. He says the competition on the field taught him hard work and dedication and helped prepare him for his career. Bill attended ASU, earning a degree in business communications, and then attended Phoenix School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctorate in 2013. He then began practicing law before the Arizona Supreme Court and District Court. Today, he is a managing partner at the Rafi Law Group, overseeing attorneys and administrative staff in seven offices. “The first time I met Brandon Rafi, I was impressed with him, his ethical approach and his work ethic. There is just good alignment between us,” Bill said. His father was also an attorney, but he never tried to influence Bill to go into law. “It was my father’s thoughtful, intentional behavior as a person that caused me to consider the legal profession. I’ve always looked up to my dad, both personally and professionally,” he said. Bill recently became engaged to Jessica Sanich, a newly minted resident of Arcadia. He looks forward to indoctrinating her into the lifestyle. These days, the couple enjoys walking on the canal and socializing with friends. When asked what he is most proud of, he calls it a toss-up. “I’m proud of my work ethic because hard work plus talent makes a person unstoppable,” Bill said. “And I’m also very proud of the firm and all that we are accomplishing on behalf of our clients.” His coworkers agree with his contributions to the firm and his personal qualities. “Bill isn’t just an outstanding attorney. He’s an amazing friend. His unwavering integrity and down- to-earth nature make him a joy to be around,” Julio Cuen said. When Bill isn’t busy running one of the fastest- growing law firms in the Valley, he prefers a simple routine, hanging out with his parents and extended family and enjoying an occasional cigar. His bucket list has him one day taking his first-ever trip to Italy and Europe. Presumably, this will happen when he has Mrs. Jessica Kelhoffer right by his side.
