JANUARY 2024 26 T he new year is here, and many folks may have “go on a diet” on their resolution list. We all know how hard that can be. One idea: drink up! Juice cleansing is a detox that eliminates harmful pollutants in the body. With cleansing, bodies can redirect blood and energy to the organs and parts that need it, freeing up blood flow and increasing energy – perfect for a recharge at the start of 2024. Here are five area eateries that offer juices on their menus: puregreenarcadia.com The first Arizona Pure Green location (there are 57 country-wide) opened in June 2023, but the brand has been around since 2014. Wellness guru Ross Franklin opened Pure Green with a mission of “building healthier communities by connecting people with nutrient-rich and great tasting products,” according to owner Charles McClendon. “We offer 13 cold-pressed juices and six juice shots. They are all organic, with no added sugars, kosher and non-GMO,” he said. Pure Green incorporates recipes from dietitians, sports nutritionists and science- backed superfoods. Jonathan Cheban (known as FoodGod) created the Blue Banana Smoothie, one of the most popular items. “All of our cold-pressed juices offer different health benefits and performance functions of anti-inflammation, detox, rehydration, immunity and recovery. Guests really enjoy Soul Kick, Melon Hydrate and our Apple Lemon Ginger,” Charles said. Pure Green offers three types of cleanses, starting at $35 for one day of juice. “Beginner Juice ‘Til Dinner” is an introductory cleanse – four cold-pressed juices throughout the day and a healthy meal for dinner. “Pure Basic” is an all-day cleanse with no solid food and lots of water. “Pure Hardcore,” for veteran cleansers, includes drinking six juices and no solids. Each lasts one to three days, and McClendon recommends including green-based fluids. In addition, Pure Green offers superfood smoothies, acai and pitaya bowls, oatmeal, superfood toasts, chlorophyll water, sea moss and protein bars. “Our future plans include diving deeper into this wonderful community, getting to know each and every resident – and as our mission states: build healthier communities around the globe by connecting people with superfoods,” McClendon said. dlitehealthyonthego.com The first d’Lite location – there are currently six in Arizona – opened in 2007. “We found it difficult to cook at home since we were busy working and always on the go,” Co-owner Brooke Knudson said. “We didn’t want to sacrifice our health and wellness when eating out, so we decided to fill the void and meet the demand for a healthy quick option by starting d’Lite.” d’Lite offers two juices year-round, with seasonal options and a green lemonade smoothie also on the menu. January’s seasonal bevvie is Liquid Defense, with pineapple, orange, carrot, ginger, turmeric and black pepper. Brooke and her husband, co-owner Chad, come up with the recipes. Detox juice – pineapple, apple, spinach and kale – is the most popular. “We don’t offer cleanses, but with the convenience of the drive-thru, guests can pick up juice easy and quick and buy for a few days,” Brooke said. d’Lite offers sandwiches and wraps, salads, breakfast and coffee. The most popular beverage is the d’Breakfast Buzz, with vitamins, chocolate whey protein, espresso, nonfat milk, banana and peanut butter. “We do have some lighter, gut-friendly fare Pure Green D’Lite Original Chopshop Christ Lutheran School Preschool - Grade 8 • www.clsphx.org LC-MS 3901 E.
