36 NOVEMBER 2023 By Mark Hays For Arcadia locals Riley Verhoff and Nic Cordovana, the holiday season is a time to spread joy in a unique – and helpful – way. The ASU students offer a light-hanging service, called Everything Lights, to help make homes bright and festive. The journey to Everything Lights began spontaneously for the pair. “A neighbor of mine stopped by as I was hanging lights at my house,” Verhoff said. The neighbor mentioned the idea of a light-hanging business to Verhoff. “I decided to give it a shot, partnered up with Nic – who I had been playing baseball with for the past six years – and the business began. We are entering our fifth season together and excited to light up the Valley!” Verhoff said. Since that fateful suggestion, Everything Lights has grown to add two more employees to the team. “We find it very rewarding to own and manage a business at our age,” Verhoff said. “We’ve learned many things along the way.” In terms of decorating, he said most customers choose large white LED bulbs on their roofline for the holidays. They’re also seeing a lot of interest in wrapping trees with red and white candy cane lights. Verhoff said they typically require a week’s notice to get a customer on the schedule, with appointments being booked as early as October. “We can provide lights and have many different options,” Verhoff said. “Or we can hang customer-provided lights. We’re happy to assist with holiday light design ideas, which could include roofline, tree wrapping, inflatables, or bistro lights,” Verhoff said. As the name suggests, Everything Lights provides light-hanging services for the holidays and beyond. “We also offer exterior lighting for weddings and parties,” Verhoff said. “We can do trees, walls, fences, and more.” Verhoff said the company also takes down the lights at customer’s homes throughout January. He said his favorite thing about the business is developing relationships with customers and spreading holiday cheer. The company offers free quotes via text or by calling 602-574-7085.
