19 JULY 2023 First, thank you again for showing belief in me. I understand the responsibility that I have agreed to take on and do not take it lightly. I wanted to take the opportunity to explain my office’s structure and the goals we are setting for ourselves as we focus on constituent services. Arcadia and all of District 6 is filled with some of the most active community members in Phoenix. This is extremely helpful because it means that important issues will be vocalized, and heavily researched solutions will be suggested. Our job as an office is to work with the community to bring these ideas to fruition as we look for ways to improve our District. Our office is fielding calls daily with the intent of solving the problems brought to our attention. I hope that as I explain some of these calls as well as some of our early wins helping the community, it will encourage readers to pick up the phone and call our office for their needs. Many of the calls coming from Arcadia focus on zoning and neighborhood issues. This can range from questions about after-hours construction permits to issues at local parks as well as neighborhood blight. We have been able to satisfy many of the complaints given to us by working with Neighborhood Services, Planning and Development, Streets and Transportation, and Phoenix Police over at Mountainview Precinct. Working with these departments, we have cleaned up neighborhood streets, moved forward with plans of sign repairs, and made sure that safety has been our officers’ paramount concern. As I am still early in my tenure, I would like to emphasize again, that I work for you and that my office is ready to take your calls at any time.
