This afternoon’s talk – the last of the series – features Bill Staples, Jr., an award-winning baseball historian and author. His topic is “Baseball at the Gila River Incarceration Camp,” which focuses on two of the largest prison camps in Arizona. Celebrate Show Low’s 70th anniversary with a Burger Burn contest from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday. The 34th annual Route 66 Fun Run spans 140 miles on the historic roadway. Hundreds of old and new-school vehicles will participate, starting with a parade of entrants that will leave Seligman and cruise Route 66 – with events in between, like live music, dancing, entertainment, vendors and food. The trip ends in Topock with an awards and farewell ceremony. historic66az.com SATURDAY 5/6 Uncorked Wine Festival 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Verde Canyon Railroad, 300 N. Broadway, Clarkdale. This year’s motto? Rosé all May! The Uncorked Wine Festival invites guests to enjoy a selection of wines before heading on an adventure through the red rock Verde Canyon. Main St. The Phoenix Boys Choir finishes their season with a final Pops Concert Series titled PBC Playlist – 75 Years of Song. The concert pays tribute to former and current artistic directors. Saguaro Blvd. Based on the international best-selling book, this play takes guests inside the mind of Christopher Boone, a 15-year-old math savant. When he discovers that his neighbor’s dog has been murdered and that he has fallen under suspicion, Christopher sets out to solve the crime. Vino lovers, this one is for you. Guests can peruse Cottonwood’s wineries, breweries, distilleries and restaurants that are “committed to creating homegrown products.” General admission gets guests a commemorative wine glass, eight tasting tickets, food samples, music, art and live entertainment. This tribute concert re-creates the music of Stevie Nicks. The band is named after the artist’s album of the same name and depicts Nicks during her solo career and time with Fleetwood Mac – you’re sure to hear some of your favorite tunes, like ‘Stand Back,’ ‘Don’t Stop,’ and ‘Go Your Own Way,’ at this show. Take the scenic route and check out this annual festival in Sierra Vista. Guests can sample local vintages, craft brews, and micro- distilled spirits while shopping at art and craft vendors and enjoying live music at two venues. Tasting tickets include 12 samples and are available for $25. Food vendors will also be on site.
