30 DECEMBER 2021 Phoenix Electric Light Parade By Melissa Hirschl Here are a few holiday displays where twinkle lights are stars of the show. MONDAY 12/1 ! FRIDAY 1/2 Scottsdale Christmas Lights Segway Tours 7330 E. Earll Dr., Scottsdale See downtown’s razzle-dazzle while gliding on a Segway. The tour guide will explain the history of the area as riders tour downtown, the lighted waterfront, the arts district, Civic Center and more. The tour is one and a half hours. Admission is $59 per person, ages 12 and up. Tours are offered during the day as well. scottsdalesegwaytours.com WEDNESDAY 12/1 Lighted train ride at McCormick- Stillman Railroad Park 7301 E. Indian Bend Road, Scottsdale Ride the train through this winter wonderland surrounded by colorful holiday lights and displays. Families can also visit Santa and take pictures until December 23. More fun options include riding the Charros carousel, visiting the Model Railroad Building and getting treats at Hartley’s General Store. Admission is $15, free for two and under. The event is limiting the capacity of people per one and a half-hour time blocks at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. therailroadpark.com SUNDAY 12/2 Chanukah on the Lawn 2505 E. Camelback Road, Phoenix This enchanting Chanukah event is held at the Biltmore Fashion Park. It features a giant menorah lighting at 5:30 p.m., plus crafts, treats and an interactive bubble show. Admission is free. chabadaz.com SATURDAY 12/4 Phoenix Electric Light Parade For more than three decades, the APS Light Parade has delighted the public with a festive, illuminated parade featuring musicians, marching bands, trucks, floats, balloons and performances. The two-hour event starts at Camelback and Montebello Ave. and ends at 7th St. and Indian School Road. After the parade, children can take pictures with Santa, partake in workshops and engage in other fun holiday activities. phoenix.gov SATURDAY 12/4 The Great Dreidel Hunt Martin Pear Jewish Community Center Scottsdale, 12701 N. Scottsdale Road This family Chanukah adventure features music, a dreidel hunt, prizes and lots of festive snacks. Masks are required. The cost per family is $30 for members; $45 for guests. These prices include up to two children; additional children are $12. vosjcc.org SUNDAY 12/12 AND 12/18 Arcadia Farms Holiday Tea 7014 E. 1st Ave., Scottsdale Relax from the craziness of the holidays by enjoying quality tea-time on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in December. Diners can enjoy scrumptious petite sandwiches, homemade pastries, teas and other holiday fares. Admission is $42 per person, $55 with champagne service. Advanced tickets are required. arcadiafarmscafe.com THROUGHOUT DECEMBER Holiday Light Experience at Salt River Fields Talking Stick 7555 N. Pima Road, Scottsdale Visitors can experience nearly five million dazzling lights, music and magical displays at this drive-through holiday spectacular. Light displays are synchronized to Christmas melodies simulcast into vehicles on a designated FM radio station. Visitors can also visit Santa’s Village, have hot chocolate and a snack. A new event is the Holiday Light Theater, where visitors can experience festive lights on a 20x40 screen. Admission is $35 per car until December 16. $40 from December 17-January 1.
