Check out these venues for a safe and memorable time for the entire family. Arcadia Fourth of July Parade 3861 N. Jokake Dr. arcadiaparade.com The best neighborhood parade in the world * is back! Neighbors and families can decorate their bikes, strollers, golf carts, scooters – if it’s got wheels, it can join in. There will be water, coffee and bagels available, and the Phoenix Fire Department will be there to cool everyone down with a fire hose. Hours: Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., parade is at 8 a.m. (see page 4 for parade map). * in our totally biased opinion. Fairmont Scottsdale Princess 7575 E. Princess Dr., Scottsdale scottsdaleprincess.com Fourth of July Freedom Fest at the Princess Resort runs from July 1-4. Fireworks will rule the nighttime sky every evening at 9 p.m., along with live concerts, military parachutist jumps (courtesy of the All Veterans Parachute Team) and a vintage air show. Times vary and pricing depends on whether you come for the day, stay a night or the entire weekend. Fountain Hills Park 12925 N. Saguaro Blvd., Fountain Hills experiencefountainhills.org The Fourth at the Fountain celebration will include live music by local band Rock Lobster, on-site food trucks and a fireworks extravaganza. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn games like Frisbees and bocce ball, along with blankets or chairs to set up for the show. Hours: 7 p.m. Fireworks start at 9. Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch 7500 E. Doubletree Ranch Road, scottsdaleregency.e-hyatt.com Red, White and Boom Fireworks Extravaganza is back for the July 4 weekend. Before the fireworks begin, families can enjoy the resort’s massive waterpark and Fun Zone and participate in corn hole tournaments, watermelon eating contests and crafts. Times vary and pricing is based on whether you’re staying at the resort or just visiting for a few hours. Phoenix Zoo 455 N. Galvin Pkwy., Phoenix phoenixzoo.org If fireworks aren’t your family’s thing, check out the Cruise the Zoo program at the Phoenix Zoo, which is available on Sundays through July 25. Families must purchase tickets in advance. For zoo members, tickets are $50 per car, and for non-zoo members, they are $65. Folks can also purchase food, beverage, souvenirs and photos. WestWorld of Scottsdale 16601 N. Pima Road, Scottsdale scottsdaleindependenceday.com WestWorld of Scottsdale will host their 8th annual Fourth of July Celebration and VIP Backyard Barbecue on Sunday, July 4. The festivities will include a variety of live entertainment, a “Snow Day in July” for the little ones with a giant snow slide, face painters and balloon artists. Check out the Fourth of July feast, including barbecue, hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, watermelon and other summer favorites. Hours: 5-9:30 p.m. Fireworks start at 9 p.m. Admission: $36 per adult and $18 per child.
