Located in the historic fire station No. 1 in old town Peoria, the 2nd annual BBQ Throwdown is ready to find out who’s got the best in the biz. Folks can sample from over 10 barbecue food trucks and vote for their favorite. There will also be music, entertainment for the kids and drink specials from the distillery. This event is free. For more: lucididistilling.com. Full Moon Lantern Fest 11 a.m.-5 p.m. in historic downtown Glendale, 5800 W. Glendale Ave. Celebrate the Year of the Rat with an epic jubilee. Guests will experience Lion Dancers, Daiko Drummers and martial arts demonstrations, plus an Asian-inspired fashion show and interactive Moon Meditation Yoga. There will also be make-and- take activities, demonstrations and promotions at some of the shops in Catlin Court. This event is free for all ages. SATURDAY 2/8 Winterfest 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in downtown Lake Havasu, McCulloch Blvd. In celebration of the cooler temperatures, Lake Havasu City presents the 35th annual Winterfest. Over 200 vendors from around the United States will gather for a weekend of shopping and fun. Southern Arizona Food and Wine Festival 12-3 p.m. at the Tucson Botanical Gardens, 2150 N. Alvernon Way. In partnership with the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance, the Tucson Botanical Gardens will host over 60 local wineries, breweries, chefs and purveyors showcasing their best drinks and dishes. Along with a bevy of drinks (with or without salt), there will be live music from local bands, a vendor marketplace and live pro- wrestling from an Arizona Cactus League. This festival is dedicated to tech-minded folks who want to learn about HAM radio and emergency preparedness skills. Sponsored by Abita Brewing Company, the Southwest Cajun Fest is back for another year of food and fun. Get ready for an afternoon of New Orleans culture with regional food dishes such as crawfish and jambalaya, eating competitions, brass ensembles, live music, kids’ games and activities, lawn games and a photo booth. The show will highlight American classics and customized modifications. Guests can also enjoy an auto-art exhibit, live musical entertainment and activities for kids. Tickets are $45.
