The Phoenix Tattoo Convention is here, with more than 100 artists from around the country ready to tattoo. Walk-ins and appointments are available. There will also be a vendor village, so while waiting for a turn, guests can get some shopping done. Tickets are $25 and kids 12 and under get in free. Not sure what to do with your pumpkin from Halloween? How about launching it across a field? The 4th annual Pumpkin Smash focuses on sustainable gardening practices and how they benefit the community. There will be pumpkin smashing, pumpkin treats, music, kids’ activities, and guests will be able to learn about gardening and the science of composting. This event is free. The 3 Bs have come together for a festival not to be missed. There will be a plethora of bacon and blues artists crooning out guests’ favorite tunes with beers to wash it all down. Local chefs will prepare their most popular bacon dishes, plus other performances and a kid zone. Tickets start at $10 best. There will also be vendors, music and a kid zone. Tickets are $10-15. There will be something for everyone to enjoy, including events like mutton busting, period costume contests, a bull-riding contest, a bathtub race, rodeo, kid zone, food and western entertainment. Hosted by Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary, the Canines + Cocktails event will provide guests with an evening of dinner, drinks and music benefitting FLPS’ senior animal program. Local food trucks gather together to battle it out – only one can win in this French Fry Throwdown. More than 15 restaurants will be slinging potatoes, while guests enjoy samples, drinks, live music and entertainment for the kids. Now in its fourth year, the Arizona Harvest Fest will feature more than 150 vendors, live music and entertainment, kids’ activities, pumpkin toss, pumpkin decorating, food contests and a cake walk. There will be panel talks with the writers discussing their careers and inspirations. This year’s authors include former Arcadia News columnist Kindra Hall, Elin Hilderbrand and W. Bruce Cameron.
