Created by Jason Rose, who graduated from Arcadia High School in 1988, as the most- attended polo event in the country, The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships are not to be missed. Spend the night hanging out with one of the most prolific and popular writers of the millennial generation – the man who created the “ Goosebumps ” series. R.L. Stine will be on-site discussing not only that series, but the pieces he’s written for adults, as well. This event is free and is first-come, first-served, but registration is required. It’s the 21st year of this neighborhood favorite. This year’s BBQ/Picnic will feature Phoenix Police and Fire, lots of burgers, dogs, Chik-fil-A, popsicles and ice cream. There will be live music from Arcadia’s own band, Dusty Tuffet. The Dino Crew will be there, too. Everything is FREE this year. The Arcadia News will also be on-site! Music from the Heart – Rock Band Showcase 10 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. at the Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Pkwy. Higher Octave Healing provides music therapy for developmental disabilities, hospice, and recovery. Today, Higher Octave will present its 7th annual music showcase, “Music from the Heart.” Guests are invited to come out and support 15 bands comprised of teenagers and adults with special needs and developmental disabilities, who are ready to show off their skills.
