Starting near O.H.S.O, participants will run or walk through the Arcadia neighborhood in remembrance of Taylor Paige Cosmas and other children who lost their lives to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Team Taylor raised $142,000 last year, and this year’s goal is $160,000 with 1,200 participants to benefit SIDS research, education and prevention. Registration is $35 and this event is for all ages. For more: teamtayloraz.com. SATURDAY 4/28 JDRF Rock and Run 6 p.m. at Sloan Park, 2330 W. Rio Salado Pkwy., Mesa. Get those running shoes on and prepare to rock out! The JDRF is a 5/10K run to raise funds and awareness for Type 1 Diabetes. Participants will also be able to attend a post run party with food, drinks, and live music. Registration is $35 for the 5K and $45 for the 10K. For more: jdrf.org. Ameri-Can Beer Festival 3 – 7 p.m. at the Margaret T. Hance Park, 67 W. Culver St., Phoenix. It’s the 8th annual American Canned Craft Beer Festival, celebrating all things craft beer. There will be more than 250 canned craft brews from around the country to sample, plus a beer science garden, live music, food trucks and games. Tickets are $35. Texas Canyon Trail Run 7:30 a.m. at the Amerind Museum, 2100 N. Amerind Road, Dragoon. The Amerind Museum presents the Texas Canyon Trail Run, an experience that will take runners through the Texas Canyon, which is not normally open to the public. SAT. 4/14 – SUN. 4/15 Family Campout Times vary, at Fool Hollow State Park, 1500 SATURDAY 4/14 Lanterns at the Lake 4 – 9:30 p.m. at Pleasant Harbor, 8708 W. Harbor Blvd., Peoria. Light up the night sky at Lake Pleasant! There will be live music, food trucks, vendors and kids activities. Then, when the sky goes dark, thousands of illuminated lanterns will fill the night sky.
