Talking Stick Way, 85250 Have you ever wanted to try skydiving, but jumping out of a plane just isn’t your thing? That’s okay, because Arizona has Ifly, an indoor skydiving experience. Through the science of wind tunnels, you can learn how to fly without having to leave the building. Before you fly, trained instructors will show you the proper techniques and give you the gear you need for an awesome experience. AZ on the Rocks is 14,000 square- feet of rock climbing terrain where you can climb to your heart’s desire – all the way to the top and back again. First timers must do an orientation to learn how to climb safely, and then it’s off to the rocks. If you want to stay on the ground, AZ on the Rocks also offers yoga classes and ninja training (where some of the people from “American Ninja Warrior” train!). Talking Stick Way, 85250 If you have a need for speed, this place is just right for you. Octane Raceway offers a 1/3 mile indoor and outdoor racing track! Once you’ve registered, grab your gear and head to the track. Races are 14 laps for adults. Once you’re done racing, you can immerse yourself in one of their interactive games, such as Zombie Survival, or Singularity, where you explore a secret military research center. In order to race, you must purchase an annual racing pass, which is $7 and includes all your gear for racing. The most popular package is 3 races for $50. Once you’ve found your team, you’ll head into one of six different rooms, such as “The Apartment,” “The Submarine,” or “The Western Bank Heist.” From there, you must search for and use clues and find hidden objects to figure out how to get out of the room! Scottsdale Road, #101 85260 It’s never too late to learn how to cook! Sweet Basil Cooking School has started its fall season, and there are cooking classes available almost every day! Each class will provide a refreshment, apron and class recipes. You’ll have all your ingredients handy as well as a teacher who will show you how to whip up a meal in no time. Examples of classes are: The French Baker, Mediterranean Mystique, Thai it On, Oktoberfest, and Noodles of the World. Classes range in price but most are around $60. The Brush Bar allows you to choose which painting you want to create depending on the day and the classes held, and then all you have to do is show up. There are instructors at each class to help you paint your picture, as well as all materials included. Plus, your first glass of wine/beer is on the house.
