Dress up in your Halloween costume and head to Salt River Fields to witness 20 hot air balloons on display handing out 4,000 pounds of candy. There will also be live music, food and drinks, a kids zone, a haunted trail, costume contest and fireworks to top it all off. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids. For more: srfballoonfestivals.com. Strange Garden 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Desert Botanical Garden, 1201 N. Galvin Pkwy., Phoenix. Head to Desert Botanical Gardens for a creepy- crawly good time! Mad Botanists will be showing off peculiar wildlife and plants and creepy creatures. There will be a monster bash dance party, live music and performances, face painting, and you can even take home your very own pumpkin. Don’t forget your Halloween costume! Start off Halloween with a howling good time! Grab your costume and head to Estrella Park for a spooky 5K. Run or walk your way to the finish line and grab a treat and a trick or two! This Halloween celebration has something for the whole family. There will be community-wide trick or treating, a haunted Halloween weekend with a murder-mystery case that you can be a part of! The Murder- Mystery Company presents Midnight at the Masquerade, a dinner full of surprises and fun. While you enjoy a three-course meal, you will watch as the mystery unfolds – you’ll get to interrogate suspects, gather clues and help your team figure out whodunit! Tickets are $60.
