This Arcadia in Phoenix, Arizona was named by its creators in 1919, who marketed it as a “garden-like area, bathed in golden sunshine and reflected from the gray and purple shadows of the surrounding desert.” We aren’t the only Arcadia in the U.S.A. Here are some other places and things that have the same name! 1. ARCADIA, CA City in Los Angeles County, California. located about 13 miles from Los Angeles. The city had a population of 56,364 at the 2010 census. In 2016, Arcadia was ranked the 5th most expensive housing market in the United States by Business Insider, with an average list of $1.7 million for a four-bedroom home. 2. ARCADIA, FL City and county seat of DeSoto County, Florida. The population was 7,637 as of the 2010 census. Arcadia’s Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 3. ARCADIA, IL An unincorporated community in Morgan County, Illinois. Arcadia is seven miles north of Jacksonville. 4. ARCADIA, IN Town in Jackson Township, Hamilton County, Indiana. As of the 2010 census there were 1,666 people residing in the town. 5. ARCADIA, IA A city in Carroll County, Iowa. The population was 484 at the 2010 census. 6.
