38 JULY 2017 ARCAD A NEWS By Kaylee Sumpter We are all familiar with the struggles of a Phoenix summer. However, we do not have to sacrifice outdoor socializing in this heat. There are multiple places in Arcadia offering standout patios featuring refreshing misters. THE VIG 4041 N. 40 th St. The Vig Arcadia is an upscale tavern known for its spacious patio, which accounts for more than half of the restaurant area, and features cooling misters. The patio is mostly shaded as well. You won’t always be sitting if you head outside at the Vig, as food and drinks can be enjoyed while playing a game of bocce ball or listening to live music. O.H.S.O. ARCADIA 4900 E. Indian School Road O.H.S.O. Arcadia is one of the most popular restaurants and breweries in the neighborhood. This is a place with options if you’re wanting a patio seat. There is a smaller shaded patio out front, where you can sit with a view of Indian School Road. But the most popular draw is the massive patio in the back, with its gorgeous view of Camelback Mountain. The back patio is not only an Arcadian hot spot for friends and family, it is a delightful place to bring your dogs. You read that right, O.H.S.O. provides a large patio for both you and your pets to cool off during the summer heat. FLOWER CHILD 5013 N. 44 th St. Want a healthy meal with some outdoor seating? Flower Child might be your answer. This is a perfect restaurant to visit for a wide variety of culinary options with a comfortable environment. Flower Child has a standout patio with misters, completely shaded sitting and beautiful décor. The seating is up a flight of stairs and wraps around a restaurant, so you can pick between a view of 44 th street or Camelback Road. TEE PEE MEXICAN FOOD 4144 E. Indian School Road Next on the list is the historic Tee Pee Mexican Food, a family-owned mom and pop restaurant that serves authentic Mexican food. The best part is you can enjoy its food with friends and family out on its patio without suffering from the Valley heat.
