Marshall Way, Scottsdale. Bring the kids and enjoy one of the most beloved Christmas films with Scottsdale’s Museum of the West. At 10 a.m. there will be a screening of “The Polar Express.” Kids can also participate in a Silver Bell Scavenger Hunt, arts and crafts, and fun games. Ignite Hope Walk 3 p.m. starting at North High School, 1101 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix. Light up the night and be a part of the candlelight walk to Phoenix Children’s Hospital on Dec. 10. The 1 mile walk is led by the Phoenix Fire Department. The evening will start off with a pre-celebration at North High School with a visit from Santa, superhero appearances, music and beverages. Walkers will be serenaded by Christmas carolers and met at PCH by patients waving candles in their windows. The walk will end with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Carefree Christmas Festival 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. at the Carefree Desert Gardens, 101 Easy St., Carefree. The streets of Carefree will become a Southwest winter wonderland this weekend. There will be vendors and sponsors on site selling all sorts of holiday goodies and gifts, a kids zone with 35 tons of snow, Santa’s grotto, train rides, fireworks, and the highlight of the evening: The Electric Light Parade. The Phoenix Women’s Board of Steele Children’s Research Center at UofA’s College of Medicine is proud to introduce the first annual PANDA Prowl. This 5K run/walk is designed to raise awareness and funds for PANDA, which stands for People Acting Now Discover Answers. This year, PANDA is raising funds for the Children’s Autoimmunity and Allergies Project to find out more about autoimmune diseases in children. Guests will enjoy tea, sandwiches, scones and other treats while listening to music provided by electric violinist Elizabeth Bacher. Proceeds will benefit Duet’s programs and services.
