The difference between your normal run-of-the-mill 5K and this event? Zombies. Participants are issued flags and during the course must run away from zombies before they take your flags away. Make it to the end of the course with at least one flag and you’ve survived! Runners will receive a T-shirt and finisher medal, and there is a “recovery” party post-race. All ages are welcome. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27 The Second Annual Arcadia Cares: Food for Kidz Packathon 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Prince of Peace Church, 3641 N. 56th St., Phoenix. 150-200 volunteers are needed to help with the assembly line packing of meals that will be provided to hungry families in the Phoenix metro area. The packathon will have one- or two-hour shifts from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All ages from 3 and up are welcome to participate.
