The Camby Hotel opened near Biltmore Fashion Park last month, in the location formerly occupied by The Ritz Carlton. The property’s name is inspired by its location near the Valley’s iconic Camelback Mountain. The hotel is colorful and elegant with a touch of playfulness. Copper elements and pops of turquoise are featured throughout the property, as the hotel’s design team used Arizona’s five C’s – cotton, cattle, citrus, climate and copper – as inspiration. The property – an Autograph Collection Hotel owned by Marriott International – boasts 277 luxury guest rooms, a new restaurant, two bars, a rooftop pool, a boutique spa and a contemporary fitness center. “We look forward to welcoming out-of- town visitors and locals to our luxury lifestyle hotel,” said Greg Miller, chief inspiration officer of The Camby Hotel. The property’s culinary concepts include Artizen Crafted American Kitchen & Bar, which aims to be a neighborhood gathering place serving American cuisine sourced from local producers as well as seasonal regional ingredients. The Bee’s Knees is the property’s modern cocktail bar that features classic cocktails with modern interpretation. The bar will infuse its own honey with different spirits used in cocktails. Revelry Rooftop Bar will be an urban oasis complete with locally brewed beer, refreshing cocktails, ping-pong tables, cabanas and space for a DJ. It also will serve food items, including inventive street tacos and hand-wrapped ice cream sandwiches. The property will use the latest technology to enhance the guest experience. The concierge, for example, won’t be anchored behind a desk, but rather will walk around to quickly check in guests and mingle with visitors. The property also will use digital room keys, which will be created and sent to smart phones directly from a tablet. “In addition to stunning design details found throughout the hotel, we’ve thoughtfully amplified the dining, fitness and wellness offerings for travelers and Phoenicians to enjoy,” Miller said. Room rates at The Camby Hotel start in the low $300s. For more information about The Camby Hotel, visit thecamby.com. Cotton, cattle, citrus, climate, copper... and The Camby?
