Page 10 November 2015 SUNDAY NOVEMBER 1 Shemer Family Arts Festival 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Shemer Art Center, 5005 E. Camelback Road, Phoenix. This annual, family oriented fundraiser for the Shemer Art Center will have 40 artist booths, demonstrating artists from various Valley arts and cultural organizations; sculpture garden tours; live entertainment and performances; food and drink vendors; children’s activities; and a silent auction, featuring items donated by the 40 participating artists and local businesses. Admission is $5 per person, with children under 12 free. FRIDAY NOVEMBER 6 Chiles and Chocolate Festival 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Nov. 6-8, at Desert Botanical Gardens, 1201 N. Galvin Parkway, Phoenix. A festival for all lovers of spicy and sweet, this weekend festival begins Friday and goes until Sunday evening. Guests will have a chance to sample a multitude of treats from chocolates to sauces and other yummy Southwestern treats. To keep things spiced up, there will be live music throughout the weekend – from Mambo to Salsa and more. A cash bar will also be available. Tickets are $22 for general admission. After the success of last year’s music festival, MIM has decided to bring it back for 2015. With the Arizona desert in the background, more than 20 groups on three stages will perform music for everyone to enjoy. There will be two stages set up outside, one inside and 12 food trucks to satisfy a rumbling stomach. There will also be aerialists, a Dixieland band, face painting, henna art and craft activities. Friendly House Tamale Dinner 12-7 p.m. at Arizona Center, 400 E. Van Buren St., Phoenix. The Tamale and Dinner Festival is ready lymphoma. The walk is a mile long. Phoenix Sister Cities 5K 7 a.m. at Arizona Falls SRP Canal, 5802 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. Phoenix Sister Cities sixth annual 5K is set for Nov. 7. PSC is a nonprofit organization that fosters cultural, education and business exchanges such as student exchange programs. The walk is for all ages. Preregistration is $25, $30 on the day of the event, and proceeds benefit PSC’s Ireland chapter. There will be awards for the top three finishers in different age groups. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Arizona Chapter, along with supporters, will light up the night in commemoration of those touched by blood cancer. Participants will receive a lantern with a specific color to show how their lives were or are being affected by leukemia and Chiles and Chocolate Festival. Light the Night Walk.

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 13 Christmas Tree Lighting 4-8 p.m. on Nov. 13 and 5-10 p.m. on Nov. 14 at Outlets at Anthem, 4250 W. Anthem Way, Phoenix. Join in on the early Christmas festivities by watching the lighting of the tallest Christmas tree in America.
