LaNue recently acquired a yoga certification and is preparing to launch a wellness vacation business with a focus on creating meaningful experiences while utilizing her lifelong connection with yoga and holistic healing. “I’m looking forward to working on my own project, especially one that allows me to travel lots and escape the brutal summers of the Valley,” LaNue said. LaNue has enjoyed quite a few meaningful experiences herself already this summer. She kicked off her summer travel in May with a month in West Palm Beach, Florida. “I have traveled back to Florida for summers since my childhood and am so grateful to be able to continue the tradition,” she said. Before the month was up, she found herself Europe-bound on a more than welcome impromptu adventure with her aunt Monique and uncle Vic. “A simple trip to catch up with friends and family in Florida turned into a spontaneous trip to Italy,” LaNue said. LaNue and her aunt and uncle stayed in the presidential suite at the Grand Hotel de la Minerve in Rome, as well as enjoyed private tours of the Colosseum and the Vatican. “May is a great month to travel in Europe as the summer heat and crowds have yet to arrive,” she said. “The Amalfi Coast is the most beautiful part of Europe that I have discovered. We stopped in a small town named Positano for several days and stayed at the breathtaking Il San Pietro di Positano Hotel. My favorite memories from the trip all include an incredible bottle of wine, handcrafted cheese and, of course, gelato.” In early June, LaNue traveled to Hawaii with her mom and aunt to attend her sister’s graduation at Hawaii Pacific University. They enjoyed two weeks at the iconic beachfront Ilikai Hotel in Waikiki, Honolulu, and rented a large passenger van to explore several of the countless beaches the island has to offer. “Hawaii is where I fell in love with sushi many years ago,” she said, “So I always make it a point to get plenty while I’m there. It pairs nicely with the common drink of fresh fruit-infused sake that can be found at any sushi hut.” LaNue particularly appreciated the “beautiful flower-drenched commencement ceremony” at the university. While she has dubbed San Diego as her favorite spot, LaNue does admit to missing Phoenix’s “amazing sunsets” when she’s away. “I love travel because it fosters growth and exploration in life, two enriching concepts that can easily disappear in the daily grind,” she said. One day, LaNue hopes to travel to Peru to hike up Machu Picchu. She plans to return to Italy in the next few months to visit new friends and further explore the coast. Traveled lately?
