When you’re about to head out for a bite, and your pup flashes you the big, doe eyes that beg, “Please don’t go.” “Why not take the dog?” you ask yourself. Then the next question is “where?” Most people have their go-to spot, but sometimes variety is necessary. Luckily, many local restaurants allow dogs on patios. But before we discuss that, let’s talk law. In order for a patio to allow dogs, the restaurant must receive a Dog Friendly Patio Permit. This permit requires that a restaurant meet 10 qualifications regarding items such as: patio location, patio accessibility, food handling, cleanliness and more. This comes directly from the Maricopa County Environmental Health Code, Chapter VIII, Section 2, Regulation 4. Anyone can view the document at maricopa.gov. As said before, a lot of the area’s favorite patios accommodate dogs. This list includes local establishments that go above and beyond to make four-legged family members feel welcome and comfortable. Morning Squeeze MORNINGSQUEEZE.COM Located in Old Town Scottsdale, Morning Squeeze offers a full dog menu!
