Special-needs children focus of photographer’s lens By Margaret Ann Lippincott Wendy Imbornoni has had a camera in her hand since she was 13, taking photographs of children in Tokyo and Hong Kong where her father was employed. Back then it was a half-frame black and white camera and did the job well. She even learned some Japanese from interacting with the parents of the children she was photographing. Now a professional photographer and artist with her own business, her specialty is photographing children with special needs. Years ago after obtaining a special- education degree from ASU, Imbornoni worked at a daycare center in Tempe where she mainstreamed children with special needs into a regular preschool program.
