Page 18 March 2013 DiCiccio Continued from page 11 We looked at all four phases of the start-up process, streamlining and cutting red-tape wherever we could. Earlier this year, the city council approved the fi nal recommendation that came out of the task force – fi ve-day site plan review. The new policy says two- thirds of site plans will be completed in 24 hours, 90 percent will be completed in fi ve days and the remaining 10 percent (much more complicated projects) will be fi nished in 21 days. This replaces the old sluggish policy with one much more expedient. Phoenix is now on the fast-track for job creation and truly is trendsetting for other municipalities. City, ASU baseball partner up The council and Arizona State University of fi cials fi nalized an agreement for ASU to bring its national powerhouse baseball program to Phoenix Municipal Stadium, which will be the home of Sun Devil baseball starting in 2015. This is the fi rst part of a bigger vision that will help our other important partners in the area, The Phoenix Zoo and The Desert Botanical Garden. The city council approved this partnership that equates to a walk-off grand-slam homerun for both ASU and the city. The agreement between the parties is a 25-year lease allowing ASU to have priority use of the stadium, facilities and the of fi ces. ASU would cover all operating expenses and capital improvements and both the city and ASU would share in the revenues generated at the facility. By entering into this partnership, Phoenix Municipal Stadium will see 30 to 35 Sun Devil baseball games annually, NCAA Regional and Super-Regional playoff games for the College World Series, and be an additional entertainment destination complimenting the other attractions in the area. Phoenix City Councilman Sal DiCiccio represents District 6, which includes Ahwatukee, Arcadia, Biltmore, East Camelback and North Central. He can be reached at Council.District.6@Phoenix. gov or 602-262-7491. The Pulaski Club at 4331 E. McDowell is offering an Easter dinner on Sunday, March 24. They have worked hard all year academically, gotten up early to catch the bus and they have thrived in school sports and after school activities. One of the coolest things ‘kids’ get to do is go to summer camp. Whether it is a sleep away camp or a camp where they learn to be better at their sport or extracurricular activity, parents know an amazing time is in store for their child. Sharing a room with 8-10 other kids in bunks, staying up late with no curfew and not having parents to deal with is exactly what they are looking for in their camp. They don’t. Don’t get me wrong, my boys are grown and there is no way my dream summer camp includes bunking with 10 other people, having a frog stuffed down my shorts or having every minute of my day planned. Sure I am confident most of you dream about drinks with umbrellas, daily massages, and being catered to 24 hours a day. And for the low price of $10k per week you could probably have all that and more. But realistically they don’t have summer camps for adults that would satisfy ALL your needs. Or do they? What if you could get the experience of summer camp all year long? What do you envision your summer camp experience would be like? s Disappear from your stressful life s Be surrounded by energetic individuals s Make your desires a priority for a change s Learn to move and feel better so you can enjoy the things you like to do more s Have someone teach you to be more motivated and be the best you can be s Laugh and be inspired every day I admit it is probably not exactly what you might choose for a summer camp. But it should be something you consider when looking for a program or gym to help you live longer, feel better and improve your quality of life. WHY DO KIDS GET TO HAVE ALL THE FUN? We would not hesitate to use her again. In fact, after owning several homes in Phoenix for over twenty years, and having used other agents prior to meeting her, she is the only agent we would consider for our real estate transactions in the future. She is also the fi rst person we think of when we have real estate questions. We would recommend her to anyone needing a Real Estate Professional. Our experience with her was pleasant, ef fi cient, and valuable. Susan always did what she said she would, sometimes more and never less. She was caring, honest and ethical in all her endeavors with our transaction. We give Susan a very high recommendation.” – Karin Wonderful Lifestyle… 9th Floor with amazing views.
