It also helps that he’ll be batting in the middle of the lineup his freshman year and have a chance to compete to be the starting catcher. Blaire Wilson committed to the University of Oregon for acrobatics and tumbling, an emerging sport that Oregon helped found and has dominated. After doing gymnastics for 12 years, she had to quit because of injuries. The advent of acrobatics and tumbling fi ve years ago, however, gave her a chance to continue in something similar while working towards a college scholarship. “It’s fun to still have a chance to be a college athlete,” she said.
