Freeman said the goal of the district for building the new school was to provide a state-of-the-art, energy-ef fi cient, instruction-driven educational facility to push into the 21 st century. The Arcadia Neighborhood Learning Center project ran smoothly and without problems, Poulin said. He credits the construction’s success to the close teamwork of the staff, principal and his company. “On a phased project like this, a team needs to have close communication,” Poulin said. “We were lucky to have a fantastic team that worked together.” The district kept the students and parents updated about the project’s status through the school’s website and evening meetings. The hard work put into the project was fueled by the goal to build a facility that students, parents and the neighborhood will be proud to be a part of, Freeman said. As for the most exciting aspect of the project’s completion, Freeman anticipates the fi rst day of school this fall. “To see the smiles on the faces of the next generation of students as they step onto the grounds of their new school,” Freeman said.
