Page 21 February 2012 the Hopi Hawks went global with “Hopi World Tour,” in which acts celebrated songs, culture and dress throughout the world, Josh Woodward said. This year’s show will focus on the happenings and lives of the Hopi Hawks through singing, dancing and other musical acts. “It’s a fun way to celebrate what Hopi Hawks do throughout the entire year from January to December,” Josh Woodward said. It’s not only the children of Arcadia and Hopi that come together with the variety show, Michele Woodward said. The yearly event has given many Arcadia parents the chance to network and form friendships. “It creates little communities within the community,” she said. Josh Woodward said Hopi is an instrumental part of the development of Arcadia’s children and he and his wife feel honored to be a part of the variety show’s lasting legacy and growing history. “It’s an amazing tradition and Michele and I are very fortunate to have even a small hand in it,” he said. Tickets for the variety show will go on sale to the public at Hopi Elementary School in the mornings the week of Feb. 20. More information is available by calling the school at 480-484-2000.
