Page 32 September 2011 Coronado hits half-century, celebrates achievements By Elias Tolano The Dons of Coronado High School in Scottsdale are celebrating their 50 th anniversary this school year. Celebration events are planned for current students throughout the course of the year, and kick off with the Minds in Motions Awards Ceremony Sept. 19. The academic achievement ceremony will be held in the school’s auditorium where Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane will recognize Coronado’s 50 years. Other events will include homecoming Sept. 30 and a fi ne arts 50 th anniversary reception in February.
