Page 28 June 2011 Dogs at risk in outbreak By Ivanna Garcia The Arizona Humane Society has issued a Valleywide pet health alert due to the recent outbreak of canine distemper in their shelters. The disease, like the parvovirus, can be fatal. It is preventable through a vaccine, however. The vaccine can be obtained at your local veterinary of fi ce or at the Arizona Humane Society public vaccination clinics every Friday for $18.
